Tour of California
Stage 8, February 22, 2009

The final stage of the 2009 Tour of California was in San Diego. Starting in Rancho Bernardo, the 96.8-mile stage included a climb up Mt. Palomar, the highest peak ever reached in the Tour. Bill went to the start of the race to catch a glimpse of some of the world-class bike riders. Most famous rider of all was Lance Armstrong, who at age 37 is returing to professional cycling. Armstrong finished 4th in the Tour. The race was won by Levi Leipheimer for the third year in a row. Following are some photos of the race.
